Skinny is In. You are considered "attractive" in the media's eyes. Covering yourself in 50 pounds of make-up to hide any blemishes you have. Tanning in a tanning bed to have that glow and not to look "sickly pale." Penciling your eyebrows because you want to have thick, flawless eyebrows. The media has created this mage for everyone, that in order to be perfect, you need to meet this certain criteria. No. Absolutely not. You are perfect just the way you are.
People criticize appearance based on all aspects. We all criticize everyone, no matter what they look like, just to make ourselves feel better. We belittle ourselves based on what other people look like and we absorb on what people say to us. In the end, some people take that criticism harsher than it should be, then it leads to scary things like anorexia and bulimia. A few people can take it to the next scary step and even take their own life.
I, for one, don't judge books by their cover. I think every person has a amazing story to tell and waiting to make some form of impact on your life. Every person I've met in my life were some of the most beautiful and genuine people in my entire life. Each person I met taught me something and even let me discover something about themselves.
I always put personality over appearance. Even the must beautiful person can have the ugliest personality. Don't ever let someone's insult get to you. They are just as fragile as you and they hate to show it. We are all created equally and we are all beautiful in our own way. We are all different flavors of Skittles (lame analogy i know :P) If someone's insult is really getting to you, go look at the mirror and tell yourself you self that you're beautiful,....... BECAUSE YOU ARE.*Cue Christina Aguilera's "Beautiful"* Your friends and family will always support you and help you! Buy that outfit! Wear those heels! Be yourself and show the world your gorgeous self because YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL. Never let words taint that
